Wow! You are really smart for a black girl! You dress very nice for African-American, or I didn’t expect you to be so quiet. I have endured all of these comments on countless occasions. Many of my attributes genuinely surprise people, and I often wonder if my ethnicity influenced their reactions. Would my intelligence, sense of style, or shyness perplex others if I was of a different race? My dark brown skin is inevitably the first impression that I express, which dominates the presumptions and biases that others have about me. Moreover, racial stereotypes affect people of all races, and this issue exists in many aspects of our lives, anywhere from a casual conversation to law enforcement to a trip through airport security. Many†¦show more content†¦Racial stereotypes are present in American media and detrimental to our society because the representation of minorities has resulted in disproportional arrests, predestined and poor overall academic performance, harassmen t, and violence against minorities. Although our society and media has progressed toward racial acceptance, profiling and stereotypes remain an extreme obstacle to overcome. The adverse depiction of minorities on television contributes to the excessive arrests of these groups. Mary Oliver, professor of communication studies, states, â€Å"content analysis of â€Å"reality†based† police shows was conducted to explore portrayals of crime †¦White characters were more likely to be portrayed as police officers†¦whereas black and Hispanic characters were more likely to be portrayed as criminal suspects than police officers† (Oliver). Crime dramas are prevalent among television shows, specifically Cold Case Files and Cops. The viewers of these shows observe real people and crimes; however many fail to detect the emphasis on a racial bias. Different Periods Of Music Have Different Characteristics

Different periods of music have different characteristics. For impressionist era, it was between romantic period and the 20th century. There were some similarities within these two periods, like the contrasts of dynamics and pitch in the former period, while the melody is fragmented in the latter period. One of the famous composers, Claude Debussy, liked to compose music through harmony and exotic scale. An example of his pieces was Danse sacree et profane composed in 1904. It consists of two parts with the meaning of sacred and profane, and most characteristics of the 20th century music. The two parts of Danse sacree et profane are not fully distinct but give me different feelings. What I first heard was the narrow use of instruments that is performed by a string orchestra, consisting of two violins, cello, viola, and double bass. These emphasize the solo Harp used in this piece and outline its characteristics. The piece is well-organized as the Harp plays the main melody of this music, while the strings are used for accompaniment. The orchestration moves between strings and the harp, and plays open octaves that are in unison with melody in a few moments. Overall, the melodies move slightly with simple intervals and straightforward rhythmic patterns. Whole-tone scales are used throughout two parts, which is one of the most common practices by Debussy. The major goal of meeting the needs of customers or satisfying them is to expand the business by developing the market. Thus, many services organizations such as hotel and tourism organizations have responded to these challenges by implementing TQM to achieve competitiveness as well as the business excellence. The stages of TQM positively influence the service quality and customer satisfaction. Uncommitted- The stage represents companies that have not started a formal procedure of quality enhancement. Thereby, the companies do not have to make large investment in quality improvement such as training and development programs of employees. The management of the company tends to review the performance of the company on the basis of execution of TQM. Tool pushers- The companies in this category focus on the quality improvement programs. These experts are known as the quality Gurus. Edward significant focused on the importance and responsibility on management at both individual as well as quality level. He believes that management is responsible for 94% of quality problems. Edwards philosophy of management can be applied to small and large organizations in the public private services organizations.
